Picture Postcards

Materials:

Directions:

Do your children love getting postcards from friends and relatives traveling in exciting and exotic places? Have them create their own postcards to mail from an imaginary journey.

Supply your children with five-by-seven-inch index cards for the blank postcards and have them add pictures to the front and greetings on the back. They can draw original pictures or glue on photos cut from magazines to depict their imaginary travel destinations, complete with descriptions and notes about their activities. Have them finish their postcards by adding pretend postage stamps.

You can also have your children make a mailbox to mail their postcards from (the role of mail carrier would be an excellent one for a younger child to play). Older children can actually mail their postcards; make sure that addresses are legible and that all glued-on pieces are secure first.

Having a wonderful time, wish you were here!
