Here's a doodling activity that you and your child can go into with your eyes closedas long as you plan to have some belly laughs when you're through.
Make sure each of you has a piece of drawing paper and a pencil. One person calls out an object (a clock, car, building, person, and so on). The other then tries to draw the object while keeping his or her eyes closed. When the drawing is finished, both of you look at the picture, and chuckle at the results.
For extra fun, suggest that your child draw a geometric shape (eyes open). Then suggest that he or she turn the shape into an object with his or her eyes closed. For example, your child might start off drawing a rectangle and wind up adding three circles in a column inside. What is it? A traffic light perhaps. Or perhaps it's a front view of an electronic instrument (just add numbers and pointers to the circles). With this game, the truth only lies in the eyes of the beholder!
