People Food
Materials:
- Art supplies
- Food circulars (optional)
- magazines (optional)
Here's a neat way to keep your child entertainedand stimulate his or her creativity during busy cooking sessions.
The idea is for your child to draw a person using different kinds of food for various body parts. A head of lettuce, for instance, could become a person's head. Carrot or celery sticks could become legs, and radish slices could serve as eyes. Your child can even make up stories that go along with his or her food people.
As an alternative to drawing, kids can cut pictures of food out of magazines and newspapers, then arrange and glue them into people shapes. They can also arrange them into animalsa can of dog food standing on four dog biscuits would make for an interesting canine creature.
Provide enough circulars and your kids will have a whole town's worth of food people out walking their food dogs and cats!
