Hallway Pinball
Materials:
- Toilet paper tubes
- cardboard boxes
- ball
- Crayons or markers (optional)
- construction paper (optional)
- books (optional)
Here's a way to turn your hallway into a high-action sports arena. Make a "tunnel" out of empty boxes and toilet paper tubes standing on end, wide enough to accommodate a rubber ball. The goal is to roll the ball through the tunnel without knocking over any of the boxes or tubes or getting stuck.
For hotshot pinball players, decrease the tunnel width or use a larger ball that's more likely to collide with the boxes and tubes. You can also make the game more challenging by setting books in the tunnel at angles, which will deflect the course of the ball.
For added fun, your child can decorate the boxes and tubes with construction paper or crayons and markers. You can also place toys in the path; perhaps the idea of the game is to knock over the alligator or deep-sea diver at the end of the tunnel. Encourage your kids to invent their own rules, the zanier the better.
