Towel Trick
Materials:
- Dish towel
- unbreakable objects
You know how to cook up a little magic in the kitchen; now your kids can try their own hand at some prestidigitation.
This trick is similar to the old tablecloth routine that you and your kids have seen in the old movies. In that trick, the magician whisks a tablecloth from a table without disturbing the items on the table. This version is considerably safer.
First, your child spreads a dish towel on top of the table or a free counter. Then, he or she sets some unbreakable objects on top of it. Freezer containers work great.
After a few magic words, your child tries to snatch off the dish towel without knocking anything onto the floor. He or she can embellish the trick with words to the "audience" like, "Tonight we have a very special treat in store for you," or "Straight from the magical palace of Wadoobee Fradoobee, the great dish towel trick!"
After your child masters this sleight of hand, he or she can work on making those dirty dishes magically disappear after dinner!
