Sweet Magic

Directions:

This simple game delights the youngest children and makes slightly older kids feel proud that they can play. And it can outlast even the slowest kitchen!

Place several sugar or sweetener packets on the table. Then place a coin underneath one packet. Move the packets around, and see if your child can figure out where the coin is. Or have your child close his or her eyes while you hide the coin. How many guesses will it take to find it?

For added fun, you can maneuver the packets near the edge of the table and drop the coin into your lap. Play up the fact that the coin has apparently vanished—your kids will thrill to be in the presence of a great magician!

After playing this game for the twenty-eighth time, your kids may still be going strong. But your eyes may be the ones glued to the kitchen door!
