Rename the Eatery
Directions:
What's in a restaurant's name? Just about everything you and your child need to know about the eating establishmentespecially if you choose its name!
While you're waiting to be served, ask your child to suggest new names for the restaurant. The moniker can express your child's first impression of the restaurant (for example, "The Pizza Palace of Great Potential"). Or, if the restaurant is a tried-and-true family favorite, the name might be based on the types of foods that the restaurant offers ("The Something-for-Everyone Shop"), how often you eat there ("Once-a-Weekend Eatery"), the way you discovered it ("Grandma's Find of the Year"), what the furniture looks like ("Green Chair Cafe"), and so on.
Your child might also name the restaurant according to the "best" meal that's served there ("The Best House of Hamburgers"). If you have more than one young diner, make sure each child gets a chance to name the restaurant. Who knowsmaybe the owners will take a hint from your family!
