Word Family Game
Directions:
This game may be tame, but it's not the same as one that's lame. Your kids won't shun this fun in the sun or on the run. In fact, they may stop whining, drop what they're doing, and hop to attention.
To play, have your kids try to make a sentence using four words from a "word family" (a group of words that share beginnings or endings). For example:
- The mole in the hole stole a pole.
- The cat spat at the rat.
- The big rigs haul twigs and figs.
- The thin pin is in the bin.
As your kids get good at making up these silly sentences, have them try for more than four words in each. And, of course, humor counts!
So, hug a bug and lug a rug; scan the plan to man the flan; this quiz has a quiet quality that will quadruple your quotient of quick entertainment.
