Think of a Category
by Andrea BermanThis activity can be as simple or as complicated as your family decides. However you play, you are sure to learn something about your best subjects. Choose someone to pick a category, like "vegetables," "countries," or "dinosaurs." Then go around the table and take turns giving examples of things in that category; for example, carrots, turnips and squash, or France, Germany, and Spain.
The round continues until someone is stuck without an example- the object is to not be that person! Take turns deciding on a category. For older children, choose categories that will stimulate their imaginations and challenge their minds. How about "exotic undersea life forms?"
