Sensational Salon

Materials:

  • Large cardboard box
  • hair dryer and mirror (or make-believe equivalents)
  • clips
  • ponytail holders
  • barrettes
  • headbands
  • other hair accessories
Directions:

Feel like pampering yourself? Then pay a visit to your home beauty salon and let your child transform you into a model.

First, have your child furnish his or her beauty parlor with a real or pretend sink (a box), mirror, hair dryer, chairs, etc. Style supplies (clips, ponytail holders, barrettes, headbands, and so on) should also be stocked. Choose your treatment (new style, shampoo, coloring, or whatever); you and your child may find unusual hairstyles to duplicate in magazines or newspapers, or your child can work from your directions or pure imagination.

Of course, your child's beauty services might also extend to other areas, such as manicures, massages, facial masks, and makeup. In fact, why not ask for an entire makeover; with your child's skills, you'll surely be the talk of the town.
