One-Inch Adventures

Directions:

What if your children were just one inch tall? Ask how they would:

Navigate stairs. Perhaps they would lower a string from a bannister and slide down it, or invent an elevator made from a paper cup and a string.

Eat. Since pots, pans, dishes, cups, and silverware would be too large, what would your kids eat and drink from instead? What foods would they eat, and what size would the portions be? Perhaps a single corn flake would constitute a whole meal!

Find clothing that fit. Since your kids' old clothes would be far too large, they would have to make a new wardrobe. What would they use for materials? Perhaps a cloth napkin would provide enough material to make a whole closetful of outfits.

Once your kids have thought about what life in miniature would be like, pose the following question: If it were possible to be an inch tall for a while, would you want to try it? Why or why not?
