Surviving the Stone Age

Directions:

What if your children suddenly found themselves transported back in time to, say, prehistoric times? Ask how they would:

Find and prepare food. What would your children eat (remind your kids that there were no fast-food restaurants in the Stone Age!)? How would they prepare and eat the food if they didn't have ovens, pots and pans, or dishes?

Make shelter. Where would your kids live? If your children couldn't find a ready-made dwelling, what building materials and tools would they use to build their own?

Communicate with fellow humans. How would your kids convince the locals that they weren't some weird kind of animal, and most importantly, that they were friendly?

Once your kids have thought about what it might be like to live in prehistoric times, pose this question: If you could go back in history and see what life was like thousands of years ago, would you?
