Alphabet Chase
Directions:
If you ever see the words speedy and letter in the same sentence, chances are you aren't talking about the mail. But you might be playing this game.
The object of the game is to see who can reach the end of the alphabet first using letters found on billboards, street signs, store displays, magazine covers, or other printed materials. Players must gather their letters in alphabetical order. That "Appleby's Cafe" sign, for example, offers an a, b, and c.
If you're stuck somewhere without access to street signs or billboards, use anything else in view that has lettersposters, pamphlets, and the like.
If you're in traffic, let one team or child use the signs out the right window, while another child or team uses the signs on the left. Or, the youngest kids might get to use any kind of sign, while older kids have to use store signs. From time to time, one team will get stuck while another moves ahead or catches upthere seem to be plenty of p's, but not a lot of q's out there!
