Henry's Freedom Box: A True Story from the Underground Railroad

By Ellen Levine

Recommended ages: 6 and up

This is the incredible story of Henry "Box" Brown escaping slavery by shipping himself to the north in a wooden crate. We learn that as a boy, Henry doesn't know his age because nobody keeps records of slaves' birthdays.
