Sidewalk-Art Contest

Time

  • 40 minutes to 1 hour

Materials

  • Paper
  • Colored chalk

Directions

  1. Art is fun together, but you can take it a step further by inviting the neighborhood gang to join a sidewalk-art contest. Agree on the time and place, and make up a list of categories and prizes (perhaps ice cream or other cool treats).
  2. Make sure that everyone wins, even if you have to invent additional categories to make that happen.
Extensions
  • Take photos of the entries and give them to the artists.
  • Have a clean-up party several days later at an agreed-upon time, when everyone can throw buckets of water on the drawings to conclude the event.
