Pot Painting
Materials
- Terra-cotta garden pot
- Masking tape
- Acrylic paints
Directions
Use the masking tape to make horizontal and/or vertical stripes along a terra-cotta garden pot. Let your child paint the pot with acrylic paints in whatever design she desires. Remove the tape when the paint dries and see how delighted she is to have created such tidy, symmetrical work. Later, protect the painted finish from the elements with a coat or two of polyurethane varnish (if you plan to put the pot outside). These make great gifts, especially when you fill them with a favorite herb or flower.
