Country Candleholders

If you liked the look of the country candleholders, try making them with a different holiday theme. For example, you could make a summer theme by using ivy or flower stencils, a Christmas theme using red and green colors and snow texture paint, a Hanukkah design using blue and gold colors, or a Kwanzaa motif using red, black, and green colors.
Light up your picnic table with this quaint set of country-style candleholders, decorated with a patriotic theme.

Time involved: One to two hours
Materials:
- Newspaper
- Two 3-inch clay flowerpots
- Two 2-inch clay flowerpots
- Two 11/2-inch clay flowerpots
- Red, white, blue, and gold craft paints
- Paintbrushes
- Two wooden candleholders (You can find these packaged in bags in the wood section of craft stores.)
- Glue gun
- Clear acrylic finish spray
- Two red, white, or blue candles
Cover your work area with newspapers. Paint the rims of all of the pots blue. Paint the remainder of each pot white and allow these to dry. (You do not have to paint the inside of these pots.) Paint red stripes vertically on each pot. Paint the wooden candleholders gold and allow to dry.
Using the glue gun, glue the 2-inch pots to the bottom of the 4-inch pots. Then glue the 1 1/2-inch clay pots to the bottom of the 2-inch pots. Glue the wooden candleholder to the bottom of the 1 1/2-inch pot. Spray the candlesticks with clear acrylic finish spray and allow to dry.
Place a red, white, or blue candle in each holder.
