Walk Backward

Time

  • 5 to 10 minutes

Materials

  • None

Directions

  1. This activity encourages cooperation. Stand at one end of the yard or in an open area at a park and have your child call you toward them as you walk backward, following their vocal directions.
  2. Help your child understand that you need to follow his voice to succeed.

Extensions

  • Reverse roles. Reassurance will go a long way toward helping your child overcome a reluctance of moving into the unknown.
  • Repeat the same procedure at a slow run and reverse roles again.
