To get your child to listen to you, get down on their eye level and speak slowly while making eye contact. Keep what you have to say simple and short.
Extensions
- The next time you are shopping and see a child fussing about something, talk quietly to your child about her behavior.
- Practice making eye contact with your child by a silly game of staring into each other's eyes.
