Guest Register
Kids 6 - 10
Required: Spiral notebook or blank book, construction paper, writing/drawing supplies
Here's a great project that will help you remember all the guests who helped make the holidays special. Ask your kids to create a customized guest register. They can make a simple book by creating a cover and using double-stick tape or glue to attach it to a spiral-bound notebook. Alternatively, your kids can use a store-bought or homemade blank book.
Creating a do-it-yourself blank book is easy. Just punch two holes in construction paper to create the front and back covers (you can also use card stock). Make sure the holes line up with those of the writing paper you'll be using (you may need to punch holes in the paper, too). Thread string through the holes, and knot the ends to create a binding. On the top of each page, your kids can create a heading that includes the guest's name, the date, and the holiday or other special event.
When your guests arrive at your home to share the holidays with you, ask them to sign in and write a seasonal message. Or, if you're traveling to relatives' or friends' homes for the holidays, bring the register with you. Your autographed register book can become a permanent part of your family archives!
