Beyrouth Fantome

Rating:No Rating
Release Date:January 1, 1998
Running time:105 minutes

Description: Khalil returns to Beirut after a 10 year absence and is immediately seen by his friends. But he had pretended to have been killed in the war, and was remembered by them as a hero, and so they are furious at his deception. More than this, they are angry that he ran away, lived abroad while they suffered through the seemingly interminable war. His return sparks them to consider their lives, and memories of destruction and death as well as their hopes for the city and the future. The actors discuss their own memories of life in Beirut in interviews interspersed within the narrative.
