Description: Ever since junior high Sarah Jenkins has had a fascination with the Saint Joan of Arc. Extolling the virtues of "the virgin maid" she began to be ridiculed by her peers. This is also when she began to hear the Voices. Christopher was the only one who understood. After pledging their love for one another, Christopher mysteriously disappears. Five years later Sarah still waits. The Voices have grown stronger. Her now frequent visions have become more intense. To others, Sarah is regarded as darkly mysterious. Some fear her. Some, like Alec, desire her, while Dave is determined to find out the truth. Sarah now finds herself caught between the memory of her first love and the forces that seek to challenge her vow…and take it by force.
