2012's Top Summer Movies for Families

8 of 11
Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages [PG-13]

Told through the beats of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi and more, this story follows Sherrie (Julianne Hough), a small-town girl, and Drew (Diego Boneta), a big-city boy, who meet and fall in love on the Sunset Strip while chasing their Hollywood dreams.

Older kids will love hearing all their favorite classic rock 'n roll bands throughout the movie, and parents will get a kick out of seeing Tom Cruise dressed up in leather and black nail polish.

Typical rock 'n roll antics and crude humor make this a movie better suited for older kids and gives this film its PG-13 rating.

In theaters June 15.
