Description: In an insular Polish neighborhood in Brooklyn, Kaz Malek -- desperately trying to dodge the prospect of becoming a baker like his father -- delves into a life of crime. Finding himself a totally inept criminal, he ends up owing a large sum to the Russian mobster, putting his father's life in jeopardy if he can't pay. Kaz devises a wacky plan that earns praise from all concerned -- he'll raise the money by hanging himself and selling tickets to his own suicide. Catapulted to the status of neighborhood hero, Kaz ultimately finds satisfaction in his father's admiration of his self-sacrificing efforts.
