Description: Balaraman Thampuran is a cruel and evil ruler in the feudal society of Thekkeppatt Kovilakam. He treats the peasants as slaves, and relishes in the very system that gives him his power. A citizen named Devan returns from studying in London to be reunited with his childhood friend Velu, who belongs to the lowly Dalit class. Balaraman does not look favorably upon their relationship, and feels that it will destroy the foundations of the feudal system. He devises a plan to get rid of Velu, and decides to put it into action during the annual football match between the feudal team and the peasants.
