Description: Teenage Mamlakat lives with her father and brother in an ancient city by the sea. She dreams of being an actress and when a touring theater company comes to town, she sees her chance. But she misses their performance, and instead ends up sleeping with one of the actors in the night. Discovering that she's pregnant, and clueless as to who or where the father is, Mamlakat must go on a journey to discover the father's dentity and force him to marry her. As Mamlakat sets out, her family insists on joining her in her quest to save her name and honor. Travelling through Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan, and Kirgizstan, the family encounters all number of bandits and one charming con artist who catches Mamlakat's eye.
