Guardians of the Galaxy

Rated: PG-13

In this epic space adventure, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" takes us deep into space, where adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) finds himself being hunted after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan (Lee Pace), a powerful villain with plans that threaten the entire universe.

In order to evade him, Quill forges an uneasy truce with a quartet of misfits — Rocket the raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the danger it poses to the cosmos, he rallies his disparate rivals for a last, desperate stand against the evils of the universe.

Fighting and intense, action-packed scenes give this movie its PG-13 rating, and might be too scary for younger kids.

Nominated for: Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Visual Effects

Next: The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies
