Tea Bag Costume
Follow these simple directions to create a Tea Bag costume for Halloween or any time when children want to play dress-up.
Tea Bag Costume
Time: About 2 hours, including leaf gathering
Effort: Easy - some sewing required
Materials:
- White, sheer material
- White cardboard for shoulders
- Leaves or crunched up brown paper bags
- Hat
- Twine
- Construction paper
- Poster board (optional)
- Headband (optional)
Instructions: Sew a tube out of the sheer material, and fold up on both ends to create a pocket on either side. Fill both pockets with the leaves or brown paper bags. Cut a whole in the middle for your child's head. Measure white cardboard to fit on shoulders, glue to fabric. Attach a length of twine to hat. Write a tagline or fortune on square of construction paper and attach it to the end of the twine.
Other Details: Cut a small teapot out of poster board and attached it to a headband.
