Bottled Egg

Materials

  • Egg, hardboiled and in its shell
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • Milk bottle
Directions
  1. Soak the egg in vinegar until the shell becomes soft.
  2. Lay the bottle on its side.
  3. Gently squeeze the soft egg through the neck of the bottle and let it slide to the bottom.
  4. Rinse the bottle with cold water to remove the smell of vinegar and to make the shell harden again.
  5. Now you can show this amazing achievement to your friends! (But don't tell them how you did it.)
Note: The egg shell is made of a chemical called calcium carbonate which dissolves when in contact with an acid, like vinegar.
