- Book on star constellations
Astronomy is the study of stars, planets, and other objects that make up the universe. Astronomers observe the sky and also ask questions like, "What are stars made of?" and "How do stars create light?" Some astronomers study through observation, viewing the sky through a telescope. Go outside on a clear night and look at the stars. Read a little before you go out so you know what to look for. Try to find constellations like the Southern Cross, the Big Dipper, or others you see in the book. Go out different times of the year and do a little map of what you see. Does the sky change throughout the year?
