Membership and the Poptropica Store

Poptropica is free to play. Players can explore and complete all islands, participate in multiplayer chats, and save their character free of charge. In addition, players can earn virtual credits to use in the Poptropica store by accomplishing game objectives, such as completing islands and mini-quests. Players can use these credits to purchase special costumes and abilities, or "Gold Cards," for their characters.

One popular new feature in Poptropica is Membership, which can be purchased for periods of one month, three months, or six months. A player with an active Membership can use everything in the store, which means all costumes and all Gold Cards -- no credits required! Poptropica Members also have exclusive Early Access to new islands, typically about a month before they are released to the public. Membership can be purchased by credit card. The transaction takes place on a secure server, so your personal information is encrypted.

It is also possible to purchase virtual credits instead of Membership. This is not a subscription; it is a one-time charge. A single credit currently costs one U.S. cent. Kids can ask their parents to purchase credits in packs of 500 (for $5.00 US), using a credit card or even a mobile phone. Credits are for use in the Poptropica Store only.
