Holocaust Museum

Opened in 1996, the Holocaust museum is the fourth largest of its kind in the United States. The museum is known for its outstanding efforts to promote Holocaust education in schools across the country through education kits and training. The museum houses over 5,000 volumes of literature that provide insight into the history of the Holocaust and its post-WWII ramifications.

Fun Fact: The Holocaust museum is currently exhibiting a large volume of political cartoons sketched from 1941 to 1943 by Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, which brought awareness to Americans about the atrocities being committed in Nazi Germany.

Carol M. Highsmith, a distinguished and widely published American photographer, began donating her work to the Library of Congress in 1992. The Carol M. Highsmith archive at the Library of Congress includes photos from each of the United States and is expected to eventually contain 100,000 photos. Professionally printed and framed prints of these photos are available at PhotographsAmerica.com.
