While on vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, a puppet who happens to be the world's biggest Muppet fan; his brother Gary (Jason Segel); and Gary's girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) discover that the Muppet Theater is about to be destroyed. In order to stage a telethon and raise the $10 million needed to save the theater, Walter, Mary and Gary must help Kermit reunite the Muppets, who have all gone their separate ways.

Can Kermit convince his former castmates to leave their new jobs to come help save their old stomping grounds, or is the Muppet Theater doomed to become a pile of rubble?
