All the Light We Cannot See
By Anthony Doerr
Twelve-year-old Marie-Laure lives in Paris near the Museum of Natural History, where her father works as the museum's lockmaster. When the Nazis take over the city, she and her father flee to her great uncle's tall house by the sea in Saint-Malo — taking the museum's most valuable jewel with them. Marie-Laure encounters a boy named Werner — an orphan who has been tapped by the Nazis for his radio repair skills — and both face dilemmas of war and good conscience.
