Irish for a Day
You can sculpt your own shamrock to wear with pride on St. Paddy's Day. Double your luck by wearing this green clover to school or work.
Level: Moderately easy
Time involved: Two to three hours, including baking time
Materials:
- Copy or tracing paper
- Pen or pencil
- Scissors
- Green sculpting clay (one block)
- Rolling pin
- Exacto knife or sharp kitchen knife
- Jewelry pin
- Cookie sheet
- Cooling rack
- Gold or black paint marker
- Clear acrylic finish spray
Draw a shamrock onto copy paper and cut it out. Knead the green sculpting clay between your fingers until it is soft. Use the rolling pin to roll out the clay to about 1/3 inch thick.
Place the paper shamrock on top of the clay. Cut around the pattern with an Exacto knife. Use your fingers to smooth off the edges. Push a jewelry pin into the middle of the shamrock. Or if you'd rather wear this on a chain, poke a hole in the top of the shamrock with the pointed end of a paintbrush. Place the shamrock on a cookie sheet.
Bake the shamrock in a 275°F oven for approximately 15 to 20 minutes or until it is firm to the touch. Remove the shamrock from the oven and allow it to cool on a cooling rack.

Using the paint marker, write the words "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" on the front of the shamrock and allow it to dry. Spray with clear acrylic finish spray and allow this to dry before wearing it.
