Create a TV Guide

Do you have a favorite TV show? Or are you an expert on TV? Create a TV guide of your own by writing about the shows and videos you watch for a week. What makes a show good? What makes it bad? Give ratings for entertainment or educational value, appropriateness for younger kids, how people from different cultures are portrayed, and whatever else you can think of.

While you're at it, take note of the commercials. How much of a show's time is commercials, and how much is the actual show? How good are the commercials? How are the advertisers telling you you'll feel when you buy their stuff? Happy? Satisfied?

At the end of the week, you can use a computer or loose leaf binder to create your TV guide. Highlight your columns with original drawing. Who knows - maybe you'll find out some things about TV that you never knew!
